Propane Plus Heating & Cooling Named as Thompson Icebreaker Race Title Sponsor
When the Monaco Modified Series hits the track for their season-opening Thompson Icebreaker event on March 29, they’ll do so with backing from Propane Plus Heating and Cooling.
The Propane Plus Heating & Cooling 75 will headline the Saturday Icebreaker racing card and feature a $10,000 prize for the winner.
“The Icebreaker is fun to go watch because people are kind of stir crazy from the long winter up here. It’s the traditional kickoff off to the race season here in New England. Thompson is like our little Daytona, at least it’s always had that allure to me. And the modifieds put on a heck of a show on down there,” Propane Plus principal Tim Johnson said.
“We’re excited to welcome Tim Johnson and Propane Plus Heating & Cooling to our expanding family of Series sponsors and partners. We’re looking forward to showcasing Propane Plus in front of a great Thompson Icebreaker crowd come race day,” said Renee Dupuis, Director of Series Development for the Monaco Modified Series.
Johnson cited an extensive history between his family and series managing partner Wayne Darling in helping to bring the new partnership together.
“Wayne and I got to talking about what we could do sponsorship wise. Thompson just makes sense. Wayne used to spot for my kids and taught them a lot down at Thompson, my whole family likes Thompson. My son won a few late model championships down there and my nephew Jake runs well there,” Johnson said.
