STAFFORD, Conn. — A schedule change couldn’t keep the next generation of racers away from Stafford Motor Speedway Friday night, as the Monaco Modified Series welcomed an enthusiastic group of Wild Thing Kart drivers and their families for a special celebration during the rescheduled NAPA Fall Final.
Originally planned for the event’s September date, the Wild Thing Kart promotion was adjusted following the rain postponement and condensed October 2 schedule. Despite the change in date — and a revised format — families turned out in force to give the young racers a memorable night alongside some of the region’s top Modified competitors.
The invited kart racers gathered with Monaco Modified Series drivers for an exclusive autograph and photo session. Each young driver received a personalized plaque courtesy of Sign Pro along with a Mr. Rooter Kids’ Club goodie bag filled with gifts from Mr. Rooter, Monaco Ford, the Monaco Modified Series, New England Racing Fuel and Trackside Bakery.
The celebration continued after the checkered flag, with the young racers joining the evening’s festivities in Sign Pro Victory Lane.
The Monaco Modified Series extends a sincere thank you to the sponsors and partners who helped make the program possible, as well as the Wild Thing Kart families who rearranged their schedules and joined us following the event’s date change. Their turnout helped make the evening a tremendous success and reinforced the importance of recognizing and encouraging the next generation of short-track racers.
The Series also thanks the Monaco Modified competitors who took time during a busy race night to meet the young drivers, sign autographs and help make the experience special.
For those Wild Thing Kart drivers who were invited but unable to attend the rescheduled event, personalized plaques and goodie bags will be available for pickup from Wade Gagnor.
The Wild Thing Kart celebration is part of the Monaco Modified Series’ ongoing commitment to supporting young racers and creating opportunities to connect today’s Modified stars with the drivers who may someday follow in their footsteps.
