Anthony Nocella Races To First Career Monaco Modified Tri-Track Win at Seekonk Speedway

Souza Media: Saturday’s Seekonk Speedway season-finale hosted three divisions of New England short-track racing, with two champions crowned, and one driver keeping the hometown crowd on the edge of their seats in two different races. In the headliner of the afternoon, Anthony Nocella topped the final race of the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series season, scoring his first victory of his career with the series. Nocella’s Seekonk triumph was a long time coming – as the driver of the No. 92 had finished at the front of the field at the third-mile multiple times, in multiple different modified divisions.

For Miller Place, N.Y. driver Craig Lutz, when it comes to talking about his home track in Modified racing, it means talking about a place across Long Island Sound from Riverhead. Lutz got his start racing in SK Modifieds at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl in 2013. Lutz will run his first race at the track since 2016 in the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series Belltown Motors/Fowler’s Auto Wrecking 100 presented by CBYD 811 on Aug. 6.
