McKennedy finished second to Matt Hirschman in the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series USNEPower Haunted Hundred XL Saturday at Seekonk Speedway. The runner-up finish clinched the 2025 Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series title for McKennedy, of Chelmsford, Mass.

The summer heat has Jake Johnson on a scorching roll with the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series. Johnson, of Rehoboth, Mass., drove to victory in the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series Belltown Motors/Fowler’s Auto Recycling 100 at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl on Saturday.

In the words of Blake Barney “[we] put ourselves in the right position so that when all hell did break loose that we were up there.” Barney inherited the lead after a feisty Jake Johnson/Jon McKennedy battle for the lead, then held off Teddy Hodgdon by a bumper at the finish in a two-lap side-by-side battle to the checkered to win the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series RaceChoice 125 Saturday at Star Speedway. It was the first Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series victory for Barney, of Jackson, N.J., who was making his 10th series start.

Jake Johnson has cemented his place as one of the top Modified drivers in the Northeast in recent years. As a student of the game though, Johnson knew there was a place he needed to celebrate to truly cement his stature in Modified racing circles. On Wednesday, he filled that resume slot in getting his first victory at Stafford Speedway.
