The Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series returns to the Connecticut shoreline this Saturday, May 23, as the series heads to the historic New London-Waterford Speedbowl for the second event of its 2026 season.

Saturday’s race marks the first of two appearances at the shoreline oval this year and is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated events of the early season, featuring a stacked 30-car entry list loaded with some of the Northeast’s top Modified talent.

Fans can expect a full evening of action both on and off the track, highlighted by the debut of the Surf, Sun & Speed Tailgate presented by Stateside Vodka brands Surfside and Super Lyte, alongside Hummel Bros. Hot Dogs.

Held on the Speedbowl midway during Memorial Day Weekend, the fan tailgate (included with general admission tickets) will feature Surfside and Super Lyte giveaways and product sampling for fans 21+, complimentary hot dogs from Hummel Bros., DJ entertainment, cornhole, games, and a high-energy atmosphere designed to celebrate the unofficial start of summer at the shoreline.

Young race fans will also have plenty to enjoy as the Monaco Modified Kids’ Club presented by Mr. Rooter Plumbing returns to the midway from 4:30-6:30 PM. The Kids’ Club is completely FREE to join and participate in, with this week’s featured activity giving kids the chance to paint their own wooden race cars. Families can also stop by for games, giveaways, and interactive fun throughout the evening. Click here to sign your kids up today!

Fans will also have the opportunity to meet their favorite drivers during a pre-race autograph session on the midway prior to feature racing action.

On the track, championship battles are already beginning to take shape as drivers chase the series’ newly introduced $50,000 season-ending point fund presented by USNEPower and Union Insurance Group.

Entering Saturday’s event, the top five drivers currently occupying the USNEPower Energizer Zone — which awards a special $2,000 bonus to the driver who remains inside the top five in points the longest throughout the season — are:

  1. Jon McKennedy
  2. Michael Christopher Jr.
  3. Patrick Emerling
  4. Jake Johnson
  5. Ronnie Williams

With championship implications already building, a deep field of competitors, and a packed lineup of fan activities, Saturday’s event promises to deliver one of the most exciting nights of the season at the Speedbowl.
