SEEKONK, Mass. — The Monaco Modified Series heads to Seekonk Speedway this Saturday, August 15, for the first of two 2026 visits to the Providence-area 1/3-mile oval known as “The Action Track of the East.”
A stout field of Modified talent will converge on Seekonk for 125 laps of short-track racing, with $10,000 awaiting the winner at the end of the night.
The current entry list features a mix of Monaco Modified Series championship contenders, established veterans and drivers with plenty of experience around the tight Seekonk oval. Among the headliners are Ron Silk, Ronnie Williams, Jon McKennedy, Austin Beers, Kyle Bonsignore, Woody Pitkat, Teddy Hodgdon, Stephen Kopcik, Matt Swanson, Chris Pasteryak and Tyler Chapman.
In addition to the $10,000 winner’s purse, several special awards will add even more to the stakes throughout Saturday’s 125-lap feature. The Van Horst General Contractors Hard Charger Award will pay $500 to the driver who advances the most positions during the feature, while Constantine Paving & Sealing will present $250 to the driver who leads the most laps. Creative Racing Products will add a $500 gift card for Saturday night’s winner.
At the end of 125 laps, one driver will add their name to the list of Monaco Modified Series winners and celebrate in Sign Pro Victory Lane.
Saturday’s race comes at a pivotal point in an incredibly tight championship battle. Ronnie Williams enters Seekonk as the Series point leader, with Jon McKennedy just five points back and Ron Silk only six points out of the top spot. Union Insurance Group and USNEPower are presenting the Series’ first-ever official championship point fund in 2026, with $50,000 on the line for the top 10 drivers in the final standings.
Also continuing at Seekonk is the USNEPower Energizer Zone, which spotlights the top five in championship points following each event. At season’s end, a special $2,000 bonus will be awarded based on performance and longevity inside the Energizer Zone, adding another layer to the championship battle as the season enters its second half. Currently, Ronnie Williams and Jon McKennedy lead the Energizer Zone standings with four weeks each inside the top five, while Kyle Bonsignore and Michael Christopher Jr. are close behind with three weeks apiece.
Families attending Saturday’s event will also have plenty to enjoy off the track. The Monaco Modified Kids’ Club presented by Mr. Rooter will be set up on the Seekonk Speedway midway beginning at 6 PM, offering free activities, games and giveaways for young race fans.
The Kids’ Club is FREE to join and is designed to introduce the next generation of fans to the excitement of short-track racing. Families who haven’t joined yet can sign up in advance or at the track on Saturday.
